This is my version of fun spring colors: greys, lavender, purple, and maybe even a hint of pink. After falling for this print when it came out of the box at fab’rik, I couldn’t help but try it on. Of course it was perfectly flowy, oversized, and mostly neutral; a dream come true that I can never resist.
A quick style note on flowy and oversized tunics: While I am naturally drawn to this fit, it’s not always quite so flattering on all body types. Since I’m much taller than the average babe, I can “pull off” this look naturally as long as I either A) show off the legs or B) wear something fitted on the bottom, aka skinnies. However, you little babes out there not even pushing 5’5 can still do oversized, just with a twist. Try belting flowy tunics and dresses and wearing a nude shoe with a heel to elongate those awesome legs of yours. You will automatically seem longer and feel more confident off the bat. (Thanks be to my sassy little roomie who stands 5 feet flat and is always showing me how to style for shorties.)
Now I’ll be honest, when I got these jeans a few years ago at H&M, I struggled with how to style them. With the grey turning into a very odd cream, matching wasn’t so easy. I tended to stick with burgundy and wine colors, occasionally olive. When this shirt came home with me recently, it hit me; this top was made to be paired with my ombré skinnies. Hooray! Match made in heaven and one very happy babe over here.
